Johnson & Johnson LLP has filed another complaint for sexual assault against British media mogul Nigel Lythgoe.
The complaint, filed on March 5, 2024, in Los Angeles Superior Court, asserts claims for sexual assault and battery, gender violence, sexual harassment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming from Mr. Lythgoe's sexual assault of a longtime professional colleague at his home in Bel-Air during a business meeting. Reminiscent of prior claims against Mr. Lythgoe, the present complaint alleges that Jane Doe was at Mr. Lythgoe's residence for a business meeting and at the end of the meeting, Mr. Lythgoe forced Jane Doe against an exterior wall of the property and then starting licking her neck, touching her genitalia, and grouping her all over. Jane Doe did not consent to this attack and left Mr. Lythgoe's residence in such a state of shock that she could not drive herself home for nearly thirty minutes.
“We far too often hear the stories of women who have been punished by superiors for rebuking unwanted sexual advances. Our Jane Doe's experience with Mr. Lythgoe is no different,” said Melissa N. Eubanks, Senior Counsel with Johnson & Johnson, LLP, in a statement made after the filing of the complaint. “After more than a decade-long professional and cordial relationship, Mr. Lythgoe allegedly forced himself upon our client during what was supposed to be a business meeting and then terminated their relationship when she did not acquiesce. We hope that stories like this will become a thing of the past, and we continue to be proud to support the women who are finally standing up to say: ‘enough is enough.'”
