Nima Kamali is a litigator with a background in the arts. A musician since childhood and an oil painter during his youth, Mr. Kamali has a passion for representing creatives as well as other professionals in the arts and entertainment industry. His passion extends to the sports industry as well; he is a former varsity athlete and an avid sports fan, and he has worked for professional sports tournaments.
Mr. Kamali has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of legal disputes—from copyright claims to defamation claims, from contract-based claims to tort claims, and from individual claims to corporate claims.
He appears in both state court and federal court, and he has submitted compelling briefs to the California Court of Appeal, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
As a student at the UC Irvine School of Law, Mr. Kamali served on the UC Irvine Law Review and excelled in Copyright Law, Trademark Law, and Sports Law. He also served as chapter director of the school's International Refugee Assistance Project and participated in the school's International Justice Clinic. Through those experiences, Mr. Kamali traveled abroad to research complex issues relating to refugee law and international humanitarian law.
