Mr. Ryan specializes in entertainment, class actions, and complex business litigation matters, with extensive additional experience in profit participation disputes and invasion of privacy. He has handled numerous large-scale cases involving claims of copyright infringement, breach of contract and implied contract, and unfair business practices. He has first and second-chaired nine trials, authored and contributed to over 40 appellate briefs, and argued multiple times before appellate courts at both the state and federal level.  He has obtained two appellate reversals and obtained millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients. In addition, he has successfully defeated multiple summary judgment motions on issues involving profit participation, contractual disputes, and fraud.

  • Obtained nearly $15 million in a 2004 jury trial concerning business fraud.
  • Defeated multi-million dollar case in 2012 jury trial involving claims of copyright infringement and breach of implied contract for a television show.
  • Obtained nearly $1 million in a 2018 bench trial involving the sale of a business and a covenant not to compete.
